Get ready for iOS 13 and iPadOS
iOS 13 and iPadOS make your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch more powerful, personal, and protected than ever.
With the new features in iOS 13 and iPadOS, you can do even more. But before you update your device, here’s what you need to do.
1. Check compatibility
Make sure your device is supported by iOS 13 or iPadOS. iOS 13 is available for iPhone 6s and later, while iPadOS is available for iPad Air 2 and later.
2. Create a backup
Back up your device to save all of your important information. You can safely and quickly back up your data with iCloud or Time Machine.
3. Know your passcode
If you have a passcode on your device, make sure that you know it so you can update to iOS 13 or iPadOS.
4. Have your Apple ID ready
Your Apple ID is the account you use for everything you do with Apple, like buying apps or shopping in the iTunes store. Have it ready in case you need to log in again after the update.
